Past Events
April 2026: Alaska Pilot Program
Challenge Accepted completed its first heli snowboarding program in Alaska with a group of 4 veterans. We teamed up with Challenge Alaska for on-resort days at Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska and then headed north to Glacier View, Alaska to team up with Majestic Heli Ski (veteran owned). Veterans had the opportunity to make their dreams of jumping out of a helicopter to snowboard in remote backcountry terrain a reality! We’re proud to announce we were able to carry over the development phase from our lower-48 states trip in Idaho and include another monskier in the helicopter!
In addition to snowboarding, the program focused on small group cohesion, educational instruction on backcountry terrain/wilderness safety, and health and wellness planning.
Veterans were selected based upon a number of requirements including qualifying disabilities, physical health maintenance prior to the event, involvement in service to veterans and/or the community, personal goals, and ability to snowboard in expert terrain among others.

Heli Snowboarding Retreat, February 2026: Sun Valley, Idaho
Challenge Accepted completed its third heli snowboarding program in Sun Valley, Idaho with a group of 6 veterans and 1 veteran peer mentor. Teamed up with Sun Valley Heli Ski, each veteran had the opportunity to make their dreams of jumping out of a helicopter to snowboard in remote backcountry terrain a reality! We’re proud to announce we were able to carry over the development phase of adding a skiing component to the program as we had our second monskiier in the helicopter! We’re also proud to announce we were able to serve our first Vietnam Veteran – Welcome Home.
In addition to snowboarding, the program focused on small group cohesion, educational instruction on backcountry terrain/wilderness safety, yoga/mindfulness, and health and wellness planning.

The Future!

Challenge Accepted was created with the vision to provide epic opportunities for veterans with disabilities who snowboard at an advanced level. Some have asked, why not skiing too?
The answer is simple, snowboarding is just cooler than skiing!!!
All jokes aside, the real answer is that we founded Challenge Accepted based on the concept of snowboarding and our major expertise is in snowboard instruction and equipment. That being said, we have been able to grow our program to include monoskiers … because hey, what’s the difference between a one fat ski and a skinny snowboard!!!
As we build our partnerships and sponsors we would love to have the team, funds, and support to open Challenge Accepted up to even more veterans, but we’re just not there yet.
You can help be a part of the future by donating now!
